Sheridan Prize for Art

The 2021 Sheridan Prize for Art Archive

As a child, I was intrigued by her mother’s paintings that hung throughout my childhood home. Drawing on this inspiration, I began teaching myself how to paint by studying “how to” art books.

I graduated from University of Bombay in India where I studied textile chemistry and engineering. My creative skill, earned me scholarship to a Textile Design Master’s program in the United States, including a summer of study at the prestigious Art Institute of Chicago.

After graduating I used my artistic talents designing fabric patterns for top brands including Chanel, YSL, Hermes, Pottery Barn, Nautica & Banana Republic to name a few.
Today I continue to freelance for textile companies, along with painting & producing products with my designs.

My favorite medium is watercolor, I love the color intensity I can get but still keep a level of breeze transparency. I love mixing different media to capture the subject matter, but the base is always watercolors.

I am inspired by different schools of art and international artists, but my ultimate artistic stimulation comes from the landscapes and people of different cultures. All my designs & art is inspired by my LOVE for color, travel & textiles.
