This is for people who create art and who are serving or have served time in the incarcerative system in the 9 Bay Area counties, and it is open to different media. Artwork can be entered in more than one category.

And if you are a viewer, please consider donating a tax-deductible donation or perhaps purchase a print from some other Bay Area artists who want to sell some of their work to help fund this first ever regional Prize for Art!

If you were an artist and participated in the Prize, you could have signed up and then uploaded up to six of your works of art for FREE. Your work would have been placed immediately up on this website for everyone to see, in one of more of the juried categories. Your work would then have been eligible for a Winning Prize or Honorable mention. As well there are 2 voted awards which your work would also be eligible for!

Each category is awarded separately. There will be a winner at $500 and 5 honorable mentions at $100 each, per category for a total of 72 prizes! Each artist is eligible for one award per category. The Winner and 5 Honorable Mentions will be announced here as soon as possible after November 14! Please also come back after that date to see the results!
